SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA – The EAST Stars travel teams delivered a stellar performance at the Korea Bauer Cup this past weekend, highlighted by a championship victory for the U14 squad and significant overall improvements across all age groups compared to last year's tournament.
The weekend belonged to our U14 team, who put together a flawless 4-0 record to capture the tournament title. The team was dominant on both ends of the ice, a fact reflected in the individual awards. Winnie Cheng was named Top Goalie, Lionel Fong earned Defensive MVP honors, and Jackson Wu was named the Tournament MVP. This championship run serves as a massive confidence booster as the team continues its development and builds toward the prestigious Quebec Peewee Tournament. Huge congratulations to our U14 Division team on a tremendous victory. Winning this tournament is a testament to their hard work, culture, and sets a great tone as we look ahead to Quebec Peewee.
The U12 Division team also had a strong showing, finishing in 3rd place with a 2-2 record. The performance was highlighted by Shunki Fan, who took home the Defensive MVP award, and Maximus Freyre-Sanders, who was named Offensive MVP, as well as Chloe Hung who shone all weekend.
The U16 squad showed incredible resilience and marked improvement, finishing 3rd with a record of two wins, one loss, and one tough shootout loss to the eventual champion. Adrian Huen led the way and took home top Goaltender.
The organization extends its gratitude to the parents and players for their dedication and support throughout the weekend, and to the tournament organizers at Achieve Hockey for hosting a fantastic event.
The Stars are already looking forward to their next challenge!
