EAST Stars U13 and U11 teams kick off season with wins at Greater Bay Cup
LOHAS Rink, HONG KONG — August 2026 The EAST Stars kicked off the 2026/27 season in style at the Greater Bay Cup, hosted by the HKCIHL at LOHAS Rink this past August. With local teams from Hong Kong and international teams from across the region competing, the tournament brought together some of the strongest youth hockey in the Greater Bay Area — and EAST showed up ready. U13 — Undefeated Champions Our U13 team went undefeated through the tournament to win their division and kick off the season. It was a statement start. Composed, disciplined, and clinical when it mattered — this is the same core group building toward Quebec 2027, and they played like it. U11 — Champions in Their Division Our U11 team also came up big, winning their own respective division. For a young group, it was a huge moment — their first trophy of the season, and proof that the next wave of EAST talent is already competing at a championship level. The Greater Bay Cup is more than a season opener. It's a benchmark — Hong Kong vs. local and international competition, on home ice, in front of our families and community. To win two divisions, with our U13s undefeated, sets the tone for everything that follows - Korea, Japan, Canada and MI5's. Congratulations to all our U13 and U11 players, coaches, and families. Next up: The season has only just begun.
